What inspired this collection?
I have been lovingggggggg all the spring vibes lately! Even though we are approaching the last leg of summer haha. All the bright and cheery colors and prints have been bringing me so much joy! Along with that, I’ve also been enjoying embracing my feminine energy more! While staying true to my free spirit of course. I’m not a super girly girl and don’t usually veer too far from my wardrobe of neutrals and my favorite pair of worn out vans.. however, this summer has brought on more color, personality, femininity, and delicateness. With lots of floral print to my wardrobe (hence the WILDFLOWERS collection was born) it represents a new layer of myself uncovered, feminine divinity coupled with a spirit of freedom, and a feeling of spring that never ends!
Tell us about yourself! What do you do outside of Gem Studio?
My two and a half jobs keep me pretty busy, but there is always time for fun! This summer has been full of friends and the outdoors! I’ve been spending a lot of time camping, making core memories with friends and family, reading, attending concerts, and all the weddings! Other things I love include yoga, going to the gym, listening to music loud with the windows rolled down, thrift shopping, dancing, hiking, and cooking!
What is currently playing on your Spotify?
I am so all over the place haha. One day it’s Bleachers and the next it’s like Post Malone or Blackbear or something lol. Lately though it’s been a lot of Smallpools, The Band Camino, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise.
How was your first time at Albion Basin? Incredible. Absolutely stunning. The Albion Basin has been on my list of places to see for a while, and this was the perfect excuse! I found my breath taken away every time I looked up. Healing, captivating, and magical are also words that come to mind when describing the experience!
What is your favorite thing about Utah?
You know, I kind of fought moving to Utah a couple years ago.. and let me tell you. My perspective was quickly changed and I fell captive to what Utah offers. I love that it takes me less than 15 minutes to drive into the mountains and be surrounded by nature. It’s an outdoor wonderland no matter the season! So many beautiful mountains to hike, sights to see, and basins to explore.
What do you want to manifest in your life over the next year?
Graduation and being done with school haha!! As well as making an abundant life out of things that bring me happiness, give me purpose, and challenge me to grow! And above all, strong healthy relationships
What is your favorite gem, and why?
Turquoise. Always has been and always will be! It’s timeless. Each stone is unique with its own personal quirks-yet still full of beauty, and it has an adventurous vibe to it that I love!
What is your favorite part of the silversmithing process? The idea process! Before any soldering or cutting silver. I love unraveling an idea or vision of something in your head. I think this part is underrated. It’s probably the most difficult and most important! Gets you in tune with your creativity and imagination
What's your favorite gem studio memory?
Too many. All of them lol. Every day is so fun with new favorite memories. But one that still gets brought up from over a year ago was when the lapidary sucked up one of my bezels… then spat it out at one of the other silversmiths two days later! I think I still have that bezel
